February Camp 2026

Sat 7 – Sat 21 Feb 2026
Schladming, AUT

Although we all know and love Bormio, the Winter Olympics means the English champs can’t be there in its usual February half-term slot. In order to still maximise the school holidays throughout the winter, we have an alternative program for February 2026 which still takes in some British-run races in the Alps – these are also international races so is a really exciting opportunity to do something different and explore somewhere new!

This February we will be based in the resort of Schladming, Austria, where one of the most-watched races of the World Cup circuit takes place!

Snowsport England & Team Evolution are putting on another round of their Nations Cup races, which (for U14+) are BASS seeded races, but are also open to international races. This is a great chance to see beyond the bubble of British skiing and try something a bit different in what will be a new resort for most. We will be right in the heart of the ski racing world with teams from across Europe.

Schedule & Races

Sun 8 – Fri 13 Feb will be a full week of training.
Sat 14 Feb will be a day off/travel day.
Sun 15 – Mon 16 will be training days.
Tue 17 – Fri 20 are when the races are scheduled for.

You are responsible for entering the races yourself. You must have a valid BASS competitor registration and enter online by the deadline to attend the camp. The races are the Nations Cup Rounds 7-10 at Reiteralm. See GBSki for details »

Camp Objectives

Having a full training week ahead of races is ideal to build confidence and make technical improvements to hit race day as prepared as possible. Even though we’re preparing for races, we’ll still shoot for a balance of freeskiing and time in gates. The races include some speed/kombi, so we will maximise any speed training opportunities (as they are often few and far between), and would encourage everyone to enter the speed race.

As we ski longer days than in the early/late season, we tend to do less fitness on these camps, but there’s still a focus on ski tuning. Coaches are, of course, on-hand to help with that, especially to make sure that skis are race-ready. It is a full schedule and athletes need to be focussed, healthy and motivated to get the most out of this camp.

Join This Camp

All camp attendees must be a member of Scottish Ski Club for the season the camp happens within. You can join this camp for individual or multiple weeks.

The camp is open to all good skiers aged U10-U16 (see GBSki for year-of-birth-based age groups). Athletes can attend the camp as an inlier (all-inclusive residential camp) or as an outlier (coaching on the hill each day only). We would encourage all athletes aged U12 and older to join on a residential (inlier) basis to get the most out of the camp. U10s are welcome as outliers, as well as any older trainees not joining as inliers. We do not normally take U8s on Alpine camps, and they cannot enter the races.

For both inliers and outliers, a £750 deposit is necessary to register for the camp. The remainder of the balance is due 2 weeks before the camp. All payments are by bank transfer.

We recommend that all parents read through Alpine Training Centre SCIO’s Parents’ Guide to Alpine Ski Racing. This resource offers advice and insight from sports scientists, coaches and other skiing parents. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Head Coach, Calum Shepherd, by email at coaching@scottishskiclub.org.uk to discuss anything you wish.
