December Pre-Christmas Camp

Sun 7 – Sun 14 Dec 2025
OR
Sat 13 – Sat 20 Dec 2025

We are looking to put on a week of pre-Christmas training and racing for the most committed that want to maximise their time on snow this winter.

There are two options for what we do, and we will go with what the majority of interested parties prefer, dates-wise. The dates will determine the camp venue, which is based on the race calendar. The camp will be priced in line with all other SSC camps, which is based on covering costs (SSC is a not-for-profit, member-driven club).

OPTION 1

Sun 7 – Sun 14 Dec 2025
Schladming, AUT

5 pre-race training days
2-day Nations Cup races (run by Snowsport England/Team Evolution)
Equipment carriage in team van (option to leave kit out ahead of NY camp)
OPTION 2
Sat 13 – Sat 20 Dec 2025
Geilo, NOR
3 pre-race training days in resort
2-day Aurora Cup races (run by Excel race academy)
1 free-skiing day
No equipment carriage - team van not travelling out as all staff flying to resort

To note your interest, click the Register button on this page, and select your preferred option(s) on the form. You can select multiple options, so if you can manage either of these dates, then choose both (only one week will run).

About The Camp

Staff

Head Coach Calum Shepherd leads the team for this camp. Check out our coaching team here »

House parent arrangements for this camp are TBC. All camp staff will provide support with schoolwork where possible.

Join This Camp

All camp attendees must be a member of Scottish Ski Club for the season the camp happens within.

The camp is open to all good skiers aged U10-U16 (see GBSki for year-of-birth-based age groups). Athletes can attend the camp as an inlier (all-inclusive residential camp) or as an outlier (coaching on the hill each day only). We would encourage all athletes aged U12 and older to join on a residential (inlier) basis to get the most out of the camp. U10s are welcome as outliers, as well as any older trainees not joining as inliers. We do not normally take U8s on Alpine camps.

Insurance

Travel insurance, including specific cover for ski racing, is mandatory for all camp attendees (residential or not). You will need to provide proof (certificate of insurance). See our Camp Packing List for more information.

All coaches are qualified through BASI, Snowsport Scotland, or another relevant governing body. All coaches are first-aid trained and all staff have a valid PVG membership.

More About This Camp

Accompanied flights will be available for inliers. You are responsible for booking these and should do so after receiving confirmation of your camp place. This confirmation will include instructions and all the details (inc. booking refs) you need.

Airport transfers to/from the team base are included for all inliers.

There will not be a vehicle travelling to this camp from the UK, or back, so there is no provision of equipment carriage. All equipment will need to be taken as luggage on the flights.
