New Year Camp 2024/25

 28 Dec 2024 – 06 Jan 2025 | Kaprun, AUT

The New Year races are the first busy races of the season. With prime winter snow conditions and plenty of time to train beforehand, it’s a great time to gain valuable experience of BASS/Mini’s races. The races are run at Hinterreit, a training mecca for European ski racers, and there are lots of options for training nearby.

Schedule & Races

The plan is to train Fri 29 Dec to Mon 1 Jan. Sat 2 Jan is likely to be a day off. This is followed by 4 days of racing.

You are responsible for entering the races yourself. You must have a valid BASS competitor registration and enter online by the deadline to attend the camp. The races are the Ambition Children’s Championships at Hinterreit/Maria Alm. See GBSki for details

You can book individual weeks or both weeks.

The camp is open to all good skiers aged U10-U16 (see GBSki for age group details). Athletes can attend the camp as an inlier (all-inclusive residential camp) or as an outlier (coaching on the hill each day only). We would encourage all athletes aged U12 and older to join on a residential (inlier) basis to get the most out of the camp. U10s are welcome as outliers, as well as any older trainees not joining as inliers.

To confirm your place, you must complete the registration form and pay the deposit by bank transfer – see the registration form below for bank details. Please do not complete the form without making payment. After receiving confirmation of your camp place, you will be required to book on to accompanied flights if travelling as an inlier. Instructions will be included in the confirmation.

Camp Objectives

Being based in Kaprun gives us access to world-class training venues in the ski areas of Kaprun/Kitzsteinhorn, Kitzbühel and Hinterreit/Maria Alm. These areas all have varied terrain, long training pistes and are usually quiet in the run-up to New Year. Training is oriented around preparing for the races, which are held at the consistent and reliable Hinterreit slope, just outside of Saalfelden and Maria Alm. The piste preparation here makes these races almost a sure thing, so this camp is great to get the first BASS races of the season under the belt.
